Become a Gulf expedition leader as you and your chaperons guide
students through the Aquarium with the help of our activity sheets.
Set your own pace and take time to explore exhibits that interest
you and your students the most. Trained Volunteer Interpretive
Guides stationed throughout the Aquarium are eager to help answer
questions.

You and your students will be immersed in a 90-minute overview
of the Aquarium, led by our Aquarium Instructors. After reviewing
highlights from the mako shark model to the outdoor exhibits,
you and your chaperons can lead a more in-depth exploration.

Enjoy an in-depth look at some of the most fascinating aspects
of the Gulf of Mexico after your self-guided tour. Discuss life
cycles, food webs, and threats to various inhabitants as you examine
biofacts and view slides. We offer programs on the following topics:
Coral Reefs, Sea Turtles, Waterbirds, Sharks, Jellyfish, Marine
Debris, and Marine Careers.
Fee: $5.00 per student (includes Self-Guided Tour)

Behind-the-Scenes
Grades 3 - 12
Join a member of our Science Education staff after your self-guided
tour, and receive an up-close and personal look at how the Aquarium
functions. All participants must wear closed-toe shoes.
Fee: $5.50 per student (includes Self-Guided Tour)

After a self-guided tour, students can research, sieve, seine,
and sample in this hour-long safari to the Aquarium's backyard
shore. Students will observe beach inhabitants and collect oceanographic
data using scientific sampling gear. An alternate, indoor program
will be provided in case of foul weather.
Fee: $5.50 per student (includes Self-Guided Tour)

Under the Seas
Experience the wonders of the deep as you spend the night in the
Aquarium. We offer an evening you will not soon forget. Participants
bunk next to the exhibits and are treated to dinner, guided tour,
behind-the-scenes tour, and more. We even serve you breakfast
in the morning. "Marine Mysteries" patches are available
for an additional cost and will let everyone know that you are
a member of a very special group of people who have spent the
night at the Aquarium.
Fee: $37.00 per student
Time: 6:30 p.m.- 8:00 a.m.
Minimum: 20 students |
